Even Though You Can't See





I heard all the crazy footstep outside. By Agni it was hard to eavesdrop here. One thing was the whole, go around the world like everything is fine and another is, go around the world forgetting you have a blind friend who would LOVE some attetion today out of all days. Sparky came in my room.

"Hey Champ"

"Hey Sparky, good to see somebody cares" I said with a smile

"Cares about what?" he said standing in a 'I'm confused' position.

Is he serious? Oh by the moon spirit I can not believe it.

"Nothing Sparky, nothing" I said, my voice about to crack.

"Hey Sifu Hotman, could you come over here for a minute"

"Sure thing Aang. Gotta go Champ" he said closing the door.

I threw myself back on the bed and sighed a very desparete sigh. How could they forget of this day? The answered ringed in the back of my head.

"Because is not important" The evil witch in my head said.

"UGH" was my reply while going under the covers again, I wasn't planning comming out anytime soon anyway.

A few hours later there was a soft knock on the door.

"Come in" I screamed from under the covers

"Come on Sifu Toph, you can't stay there all day you know?"

"Just watch me Twinkle Toes"

I went deeper into the bed sheet. 4 years after the war and they always remembered, but out of no-where they completely forgot.

Twinkle Toes left the room silently. Then another knock.

"What now?" I asked agravated

"Can I come in?" Pops voice rang in the distance.

I sat up, surely Iroh didn't forget.

"Sure" I said a little too happy.

I heard the door close behind him and then he said the words I've been waiting for.

"Happy Birthday Toph" he said comming closer and hugging me.

"Oh Pops, is good to know that atleast one remembers" I said almost at the verge of tears.

"What do you mean Toph?"

"I mean Sparky and Twinkle Toes both walked in this room and didn't say a single congrats, that what I mean"

"Ohhhhhhhhh" he said and was quiet for the last few minutes.

"Here is your favorite that you like. I couldn't buy you anything but I did the best tea in the world" He said

"Ahhhhhhhhh, now that's the stuff" I said while the hot liquid traveled down my throat.

Pops stayed a little longer and the left.

I went back to the last cup of tea he had left me when Snozzles jumped on the bed.

"You know I feel you right?"

"Yeah.................." he said trying to get the next couple words out

"Well Meathead, what's wrong?"

"Nothing is just, I got something to show you" he said grabbing my hand.

I've never seen Sokka so excited and at the action of him grabbing my hand it made me blush. He ran out of the house and into a little house about three houses down. For some reason I had my eyes closed, not that it mattered anyway.

"OK, where here. Open your eyes" he said after openning the door.

"Sokks I can see remember? That's the whole deal of I'M BLIND" I screamed.

"You sure you can't see?" he said in a mocking tone.

I wasn't in a good mood for sarcasm today.

"I'm outta here" I said turning on my heels and walking away.

"Well, even though you can't see, that is not the why I brought you here" he said grabbing my arm.

"Then for what? To make me feel stupid because I can't see the awsome job you did"

"No" he said.

"You dont need to see for this" he said and then I felt his lips on mines.

They tasted sweet, as if Sokka was some kind of addicting candy or something. He didn't break the kiss while he picked me up and carried me to the inside of the house and placed me on a bunch of pillows. I could feel the heat of the candels around us. He broke the kiss and I felt him smile.

"What you smiling for Snozzles?"

"Because I finally did something I've been wanting for a long time" he said serious

"What was that?" I asked nervous

"Be alone with you with out weird people jumping at us and attacking us"

"So....." I said while sitting up.

"You wanted to be alone with me?" I asked him

"Yeah Toph, I wanted to be alone with you and taste your beautiful lips"

I blushed at the comment and couldn't help but crying.

"Oh Toph don't cry" he said hugging me

"Is your fault Meathead"

"Then let me fix it" he said in a very seductive voice.

My head went up at the sound of his voice and his lips found mines again. This time my arms flew around his neck as I brought him with me. We kissed like there was no tomorrow, this was something I always dreamed of with Sokka but never thought that it would happen. I mean with Suki back at Kyoshi, so it gave me a free chance but I didn't know how he would react, but now I knew and it felt great to have him here

"Hey Snozzles" I called when we broke the kiss

"I...... love you" I said blushing

"I love you too Toph, happy birthday"

I smiled big and he gently caress my cheek.

This was the best birthday ever.
